Mary J. Blige Talks Rihanna & Chris Brown, Feeling Beautiful & Wavering Off Course In Vibe

Rihanna and Chris Brown’s relationship ain’t nobody’s business and Mary J. is  definitely not here to judge.

She’s covering Vibe Magazine’s February/March issue, which also celebrates  their 20th Anniversary, and inside she praises Rihanna for not only making good  music but living her life and being happy no matter what others may think. In  her cover story, Mary also candidly dishes on the times that she feels the most beautiful, the  evolution of her style  and if there have been moments when she’s felt like  she’s wavered off course.

On the Current State of R&B “I am so proud of what  Rihanna is doing. She is speaking to her generation, and she’s living her life  in front of them. I don’t even think she is purposely doing it. She’s such a  beautiful girl, and I don’t think she knows she’s that beautiful. She’s just  living her life, and leading her generation, and she has great, great  songs.”

On People Giving Rihanna a Hard Time Because of Chris Brown “They give her a hard time because  she’s living her life. As long as she’s having fun and isn’t three minutes from  shooting herself, good! I want her to be happy.  That’s impressive to me. And I love her songs.”

On There Being Moments Where She’s Been Off Course “There are always moments like that. If you’re not confident in yourself, you’re  going to waver. I’ve wavered and I’ve lost. It’s all in the history books. When you’ve had a high of success and then you  find yourself chasing, you lose. If you don’t have the patience with yourself to  do right by you, you lose. That’s a constant battle.”

On When She Feels Most Beautiful “When I’m made up and  dressed and my heart is good and I feel happy. I’m not going to lie and say I  feel beautiful when I have on a hair scarf and I’m running to the gym. I feel  confident, but beautiful? That’s on the red carpet.”

On When Her Husband Thinks She’s Most Beautiful

“When I’m running to the gym [laughs]. Less is more, I guess. He always tells  me, ‘You don’t need all that stuff.’”

On Her Style Being Softer Now “I’ve evolved, I’m a woman  now, and I’ve softened. I’ve been a tomboy my whole life. But then you get  older, you get married, you soften up.”

 

‘The Best Man’ Gets A Christmas Sequel

For most of us, ‘The Best Man’ easily falls in the  Top 10 movies that features an all-African American cast over the past  15-20 years.  The romantic comedy centers around four college friends (Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Taye  Diggs and Harold Perrineau) that are reunited for a wedding, however, a few  secrets among the friends almost have a disastrous effect on the wedding.

Although it’s been 13 years, since the movie’s release, the sequel has been  green-lit for production in April.  Finally!   During an interview with Urban Daily, actress Nia Long, who played the fiesty, career-woman “Jordan”, spilled the tea:

Well, I’m getting ready to play Jordan Armstrong again. I start shooting the  sequel to “The Best Man” soon. The working title is “The Best Man Christmas” it  might change though. We start that in April so I’m  excited to relive Jordan. She’s very feisty, very organized, and knows what she  wants. She’s all about business. But I think you’re going to see her find her  heart in the sequel. That’s her big challenge.

Nia also revealed that her all-time favorite character to play was Nina  Mosley in the 1997 film, “Love Jones”:

My all-time favorite is “Love Jones.” I have a special place in my heart for  that film. It is visually beautiful and the story is amazing. You saw two black people finding love, being in love, and  losing love in a way that was urban with an edge. But the story is so  universal.

It’s kind of dope to see them bring some of those urban classics back.  Hopefully, the sequel is just as good as the first one.

 

Kelly Rowland Shoots Video To ‘Kisses Down Low’

23-year old producer Mike Will Made It (right) is definitely having the best  year ever.

After producing top club bangers for Rihanna, Juicy J, Kanye West, Drake and  Future, he’s now working with Kelly Rowland on her upcoming album, appropriately  titled, Talk A Good Game. Yesterday, he joined Kelly on the set of the  video for her new single, “Kisses Down Low” which he produced last fall.   The video is right on time since Kelly is now capitalizing off of the buzz from  performing at the Super Bowl and slaying the Grammys’ red carpet on Sunday night.

Talk A Good Game is definitely a good album title for Kelly’s music  since she’s been talking that talk ever since she dropped, “Motivation.”  In the newest single, she sings:

KimYe Stops Plane, Gets In Trouble With Airport Security

When Kanye West was apart of one duo he once asked “who gon’ stop me, huh?” TSA gave the Kanye and Kim Kardashian (KimYe) duo that answer when the celebrity parents-to-be had their plane delayed due to bypassing security clearances at New York City’s John F Kennedy airport.

Returning from their samba-filled Brazil trip with Will Smith and Duane Martin Tuesday (Feb. 12), the power couple received some unauthorized help reaching their connecting flight to LAX from an opportunistic American Airline staff member.

“An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area,” says a spokesman for the Transpiration Security Administration (TSA) ”in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” Since the unnamed airline employee “violated security protocol” KimYe’s connecting flight was delayed an hour while TSA “conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway.”

It’s not all love and appreciation for the reality show beauty and the microphone beast recently. Ms. Kardashian’s laywer in her pending divorce case with ex-husband Kris Humphries claims the Brooklyn Nets star is holding the case “hostage” because of alleged “uncooperative third parties,” according to a report from E! Online. Humphries’ camp attributes the delay to Kris’ legal right to be present during Kim’s deposition, however his basketball season lasting until mid May complicates Kim’s request for an expedited trial in order for the divorce to be finalized by the time she gives birth in July.

Her other half has drawn the critical ire from lauded electro-house  producer (and frat house legend) Deadmau5 in a recent interview with VIBE. When asked whom the Canadian musician would like to design a live show, he responded frankly with “Anyone other than f—ing Kanye. I f—ing hate him.”

The G.O.O.D. Music general is working on his as-of-yet untitled follow-up to his 2010 classic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy with past collaborators The-Dream and Malik Yusef both praising the new recordings.

Lil Wayne Under Fire For Disrespectful Emmett Till Lyric, Epic Records Pulls Song

 Lil Wayne is under intense scrutiny for a rap lyric that blatantly disrespects the memory of Emmett Till, a young boy that was murdered in 1955 for whistling at a white woman.

The rapper appears on the Future song “Karate Chop,” where he proclaims he would beat up a woman’s private parts like Emmett Till.

Epic Records has already released a statement indicating that they are pulling the remixed record, which was apparently leaked to the internet.

“We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s `Karate Chop,’ which was leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics,” the statement said. “Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. … we are going through great efforts to take down the unauthorized version.”

Another version of the song is coming out without the reference to Emmet Till. The move corresponds with the wishes of the family.

Earlier this week, the family of the Till family has released a statement expressing their outrage at the lyric.

Airickca Gordon-Taylor, founding director of the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation, said the song is “disappointing, dishonorable, and outright disrespectful to our family.”

“My agenda is not to be disrespectful to Lil Wayne, even as much as I feel he’s been disrespectful to my family. We just want Emmett’s name removed from that song. That entire segment is very misogynistic and promotes domestic abuse toward women by our own race.” Gordon-Taylor told the Sun-Times on Wednesday.

“But it also shows total disregard of where you’ve come from. He wouldn’t even be out there rapping these stupid lyrics without the sacrifice Emmett made. Personally, I think Lil Wayne should just go ahead and apologize to my family. It’s hurtful.”

Lil Wayne has made no comment at press time.

President Barack Obama Plans To ‘Hangout’ With America

 

President Barack Obama is a man of the people and with the help of Google+ he plans to “Hangout” with those people. Today (February 14th) at 4:50 p.m. EST the President will partake in the online event “Fireside Hangout” hosted and moderated by Google which uses the Google+ Hangout video chat client. President Obama will converse live with a select few individuals active on Google+ but others can submit a text or video question and vote on favorite questions.

Today’s video chat session is the latest in a series of Google+ Hangout collaborations between the White House and the tech giant. The first session was January 30th, 2012 and  was the “first online conversation to happen at the White House in real time–ever,” according to  the White House’s official website. Last month, Vice President Joe Biden held a virtual conversation to discuss gun violence and future policies. The White House has hosted other Hangout session on issues such as human trafficking, small businesses and many other pressing matters.

Recently, President Obama held his first State Of The Union Address since re-election and discussed plans to increase job creation, incentivizing corporate pollutant control as well as gun control reduction and more.  The Chicago-native is also scheduled to speak at a hometown high school, Hyde Park Academy this Friday(Feb. 15th) about gun violence in the wake of Chicago’s recent murder rate

Gucci Mane And A$AP Ferg Exchange Words Via Twitter Over Respective Mixtape Titles

 

 Hours after releasing his new 23-track mixtape Trap God 2, Atlanta native Gucci Mane took to Twitter to send a shot at Harlem native and A$AP Worldwide/RCA recording artist A$AP Ferg regarding his upcoming Trap Lord project.

“ASAP whoever calling his mixtape trap lord niggas need to get off my dick and let they momma get on it,” Gucci tweeted.

About 30 minutes later A$AP Ferg responded with: “TRAP LOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD ACROSS MY BELLLYYY!!! NIGGAS IS WASHED UP LOLOL…THERES A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GODS AND LORDS ” LORDS NEVER WORRY” tTRAP LORD.”

Gucci’s Trap God 2 was the rappers first release since the original Trap God dropped this past October. The mixtape features verses from Lil Wayne, Rocko, Lloyd, Waka Flocka and Wiz Khalifa with production coming from the likes of Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven, Lex Luger and C4.

Ferg on the other hand, announced and spoke on Trap Lord with XXL in late January. He said, “My plan is to drop this Trap Lord mixtape, shake the world up a little bit, turn the world upside down. And just have fun. It’s about having fun… I’ve been in the passenger seat with Rocky driving for a while. Now it’s the part where they see what success brings you.”

He continued, “A Trap Lord is basically the struggle to do better. It’s almost like the theme of Always Strive And Prosper (A$AP). Trap don’t necessarily mean you selling drugs. You could be selling clothes, watches, fake watches, gold teeth, hats—anything. You just trapping. And you a Lord of it.”

Ferg, who recently peformed a sold-out show at New York’s S.O.B.’s this past Tuesday alongside Fat Trel, is gearing up for the release of his Trap Lord mixtape which is set for release sometime this Spring.

Rapper Jim Jones arrested in NJ; charged with disorderly conduct, hindering apprehension

FAIR LAWN, N.J. (AP) — Rapper Jim Jones has been arrested after allegedly becoming belligerent with police in the New Jersey town where he lives.

NorthJersey.com reports (http://bit.ly/Z0nZxm ) Jones was charged Wednesday in Fair Lawn with disorderly conduct and hindering apprehension.

It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.

Police say they were questioning Jones about a ticketed vehicle they were trying to tow. Jones agreed to pay the fee but allegedly became upset when questioned about prior warrants for failing to shovel a sidewalk and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

He posted bail on the warrants and has a Feb. 27 court date.

The 37-year-old hip-hop artist is one of the Diplomats, a New York-based rap crew. His rap “We Fly High” was one of 2007’s top-selling tracks.

J. Cole Releases New ‘Truly Yours’ EP, Announces New Single Dropping This Week

Roc Nation emcee J. Cole surprised his fans early Tuesday morning by dropping a previously unannounced new project.

Cole announced the release of Truly Yours, a 5-track EP, on his DreamVillain blog.

In a letter addressed to his supporters, Cole explained that while he continues to work on his sophomore studio album, Born Sinner, he felt he needed to share some of the material that wouldn’t make it on to the follow-up to Cole World: The Sideline Story.

“It’s hard as f**k for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait,” wrote Cole. “Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul..”

The opening track, “Can I Holla At Ya,” features Cole rapping about a past love, issues with his stepfather, and an old friend who’s now addicted to drugs over Lauyrn Hill’s “Zion.”

The Fayetteville, North Carolina native also jumped on a Nas track for his version of “Stay,” and he addresses social issues on “Rise Above.”

In another bit of big music news, Cole also announced in his blog post that he will be releasing his next single this week.

He did not reveal the name of the song, but he did add that he believes his new LP will be his greatest project to date.

“1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet,” wrote Cole.

Cole had previously released the buzz single “Miss America” last November. Born Sinner was originally scheduled to be released on January 28th but has been delayed to a later date.

Lil Mama To Play Left Eye In TLC Biopic

 Rapper Lil’ Mama may be close to repairing her reputation, as she has been cast to play deceased singer/rapper Left Eye in a feature film.

The news was dropped by MC Lyte as she was interviewed on the red carpet at an event.

“She just got the role as Left Eye in TLC’s new movie. I am so excited for her,” MC Lyte said.

The veteran rapper said that she also plans to mentor Lil Mama and guide her comeback.

“I’m gonna put a little bit of my concentration and focus on helping to uplift a sister who is talented, smart, witty, and just had her chances cut too short, and that’s Lil Mama ’cause she is a talented young lady,” explained Lyte.

The movie will be a made-for-TV venture that will delve into the roller coaster life of Left Eye. Left Eye was the Hip-Hop portion of the multi-platinum selling group. TLC sold more than 22 million records. The movie will look into other facets of the group, including T-Boz’s bout with sickle cell and the group’s well-documented financial woes.

In 2009, Lil Mama jumped on stage as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed out the MTV Awards. She was widely panned for the act, despite being tremendously talented.

Dr. Dre Sues Yamaha For Ripping Off Headphone Design

Music mogul Dr. Dre is suing electronics giant Yamaha, over headphones the company is manufacturing, which Dr. Dre claims infringes upon his Beats Electronics patents.

Lawyers for Beats Electronics filed the lawsuit against Yamaha Corporation of America last week, in US District Court, Central District of California.

The lawsuit claims that Yamaha is marketing a line of “PRO” headphones that copy the design of Dr. Dre’s world-famous Beats line of headphones.

“Consumers appreciated the design, as well as the sound quality, of Beats and began wearing the Beats headphones around their necks as a fashion accessory even when not listening to music,” the lawsuit reads. “In fact the design of the Beats headphones has been a significant driver of the commercial success of the products.”

According to Dr. Dre, a side-by-side comparison of Yamaha’s “PRO” is so similar, that it will confuse consumers.

To make matters worse, Yamaha is running ads that trade-off of Dr. Dre’s name and the Beats name as well.

In November 2012, Dr. Dre’s lawyers fired off a warning to Yamaha’s counsel, informing them of their infringement.

But, Yamaha continues to market the knock off line of headphones.

Dr. Dre is suing for at least $75,000 in damages, claiming Trade Dress Infringement, Unfair Competition and Patent Infringement.

Bone Thugs Have Eyes Set On Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame

 Bizzy Bone and Flesh-N-Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony say the legendary 90′s Hip-Hop group’s current reunion is setting them up to hopefully one day join fellow Hip-Hop artists Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

 

Groundsounds.com caught up with the two rappers at the Friends ‘N’ Family Pre-Grammy party, and they spoke on Bone’s 20 years in the business and part of the motivation to keep going.

“The 20 years- commemorating it. We’re going for the 25 year thing. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cleveland, Ohio,” shared Bizzy.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is located in Bone’s hometown of Cleveland. The facility and foundation were created to honor artists who have made a significant contribution to Rock-and-Roll music.

An artist becomes eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. So far, only four Hip-Hop acts have been selected for induction into the hall.

Bone Thug-N-Harmony released their debut album Faces of Death in 1993 under the name B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e. The group rose to prominence after the release of 1994′s Creepin on ah Come Up and reached national recognition with E. 1999 Eternal in 1995. E 1999 featured the #1 hit “Tha Crossroads.” The song was dedicated to Bone’s mentor Eazy-E after he passed away from complications from AIDS.

“We commemorating 20 years of excellence, of great music,” said Flesh. “All five of the brothers. It’s like real focused right now. Live performances. On tour. We working real strong right now.”

All 5 members of Bone Thugs made a musical comeback recently when they appeared on Games’ “Celebration (Remix)“. The track samples Bone’s Grammy nominated, Top 20 hit “1st of tha Month.”

Nelly Confirms T.I., Trey Songz And Wiz Khalifa As Guests For New Album “M.O.”

Multi-platinum selling rapper Nelly took to the red carpet this weekend at the Grammy’s and began to shed some light on his upcoming seventh studio, M.O., and some guests that fans can expect to hear.

THR caught up with the past-Grammy winner and in addition to asking him about the performances that he was excited to see that night they also got some information out of him regarding M.O. and its guests.

“The album is full of great collaborations,” he told THR. “I have the first ever Nelly and Nelly collaboration with myself and Nelly Furtado.”

He then rattled off a few other guests.”Trey Songz is on my album, T.I. is on my album… Wiz Khalifa. It’s a great album.”

M.O. will be the follow-up to 2010′s 5.0 which featured the hit singles “Just A Dream” and “Move That Body.” The St. Lunatic most recently released his second mixtape, Scorpio Season, in November.

In addition to M.O., Nelly can be seen in the upcoming 2013 film Reach Me which stars Sylvester Stallone, Terry Crews and Kelsey Grammar.

Nelly’s seventh studio album, M.O., is set to be released this June.

George Clinton Hosting News Conference for #Flashlight2013 Campaign to Fight for Unpaid Royalties

 George “P-Funk” Clinton is hosting a press conference for international media, music executives and government officials for his #Flashlight2013 camapaign.

The news conference, which is set for 5:00 pm in Manhattan at BB King’s in Manhattan, will address the ongoing battle for unpaid royalties against Armen Boladian, owner of Bridgeport Music.

P-Funk is one of a group artists who are involved in an ongoing dispute with Boladian, and Bridgeport Music.

The artists claim Bridgeport has withheld important financial records and evidence that George Clinton believes will show Boladian has not been forthcoming in his royalty payments to artists associated with the company.

Clinton, who was once friends with Boladin, told Action 7 News in Detroit that he and Boladian were business partners initially, but now Boladian is taking money away from family members and band mates that helped make the music

“Yeah, I was partners with him…it was supposed to be fifty-fifty,” Clinton told Action 7 News.

“They look to me because that was my publishing company,” Clinton said of his band mates and family members. “Not only my family, my immediate family, but the band members.”

Having been one of the most sampled artists in Hip-Hop’s history to date, George Clinton estimates that he has been sampled between 300-400 times and has yet to receive royalties on many of the songs recorded and later sampled as the front man of Parliament/Funkadelic.

Many Hip-Hop fans will recall Parliament, Funkadelic and P Funk’s music being sampled in the works of Snoop Dogg, Dre, DPG, Warren G,  and many other West-Coast artists from the G-Funk era of the 1990′s.

One anonymous attorney, who works in the music industry, gave 7 Action News more than 200 names of artists, or their surviving relatives, who are owed approximately $4.7 million in royalties.

“I ain’t crying because I lived my life, did what I did, but it’s still mine. I still wrote what I wrote, and I’m going to fight for that,” Clinton added.

Clinton started promoting the #Flashlight2013 campaign with a t-shirt he wore while performing with Kid Rock at Ford Field in Detroit last Thanksgiving Day.

While Clinton is seeking money that he is personally owed, he also stated that he would like to have greater impact on the heavily debated issues of intellectual property rights and copyrighted materials.

“I (George Clinton) want to be known as the man who brought to the attention of America the copyright issues. That’s what I would like my legacy to be, to have turned people on to the fact that they need to fight for their rights to their music. You have to fight a lot of people for your music. You have to fight the copyright companies, like BMI. You have to fight these record companies because they really want to take it all. Right now, it’s time for people to start getting their music back. From about 1978 to 2013 is the timeframe from which you’re allowed to start getting your music, made back then, returned to you. 2013, ….this will be the first time a lot of people are going to get their music back and I’m going to help them!”

Yo Gotti Signs to Epic, Mac Miller’s New Series on MTV, Krondon Releases Solo Project

Yo Gotti Tweeted a photo of himself with L.A. Reid, Chairman and CEO of Epic Records. While no official press release has been distributed by Epic, sources have confirmed he is the latest rapper to sign with the label. The news of Yo Gotti’s signing comes after years of pushing his brand from his hometown of Memphis to around the world. Yo Gotti joins Cash Out and Future, making him the third major artist signed by LA Reid, since he took over the label in July of 2011.

Starting Tuesday, February 26 at 11:30/10:30c Mac Miller will be making MTV2 his new home, while bringing along all his “Most Dope” friends. “Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family” features Mac living in the hills of L.A. Frank Ocean, Drake, & Pusha T Make Album Announcement At The Grammys

Three of the biggest stars in Hip-Hop and R&B last year used the spotlight placed on “Music’s Biggest Night” to reveal news about their 2013 projects.

Frank Ocean, Drake, and Pusha T were all present at the Grammy Awards last night, and during their respective turns on the red carpet each artist shared what’s happening with their highly anticipated upcoming albums.

Even though he lost the Album of The Year award to Mumford & Sons’ Babel, Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean is already hard at work to compete for the title again at a future show.

Ocean spoke with Billboard, telling them that he’s already “knee-deep” into the follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut LP channel ORANGE.

The R&B singer also announced that he will be going on a full length tour this year- his first official tour since last summer, when he pulled out of a scheduled European run as the opening act for Coldplay.

Drake also came out with big news for his fans before the Grammy telecast. In an interview with E!’s Ryan Seacrest the Young Money rapper announced the title for his next album will be Nothing Was The Same.

Drake’s third official LP will feature his latest song “Started From The Bottom”. The video for the lead single was released last night as well.

While celebrating his first Grammy nominations for G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy”, Pusha T told FUSE that his debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, will be dropping this spring.

The Rick Ross-assisted “Millions” will be one of the tracks to appear on the album when it is released in May.

Pusha T didn’t win any Grammys last night, but both Frank Ocean and Drake took

home

trophies.

Frank Ocean was nervous making his first Grammy acceptance speech. The Dream was overzealous at finally making a complete Grammy acceptance speech. Jay-Z was Jay-Z. Sometimes being Jay-Z means you effectively takeover social media for moment.

According to Mashable, the acceptance speech for “No Church In The Wild” generated more than 116,400 tweets per minute.

Jay-Z won three golden gramophones last night for “N****s in Paris” (Best Rap Song/Best Rap Performance) and “No Church In The Wild” (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration). Shawn Carter assisted Justin Timberlake in his return to the Grammy stage by helping the crooner perform their song “Suit & Tie”.

Lil Wayne attended the game but did not get to witness the historic feat as he was ejected by security at the American Airlines arena.

The Heat’s spokeswoman stated, via email to USA Today, that Mr. Carter left on his own.

While the New Orleans wordsmith asserts his vocal allegiance with the Heat’s opponent as the cause for his ejection, an eyewitness sitting near Lil Wayne suggests guns were the central reason.

Miami DJ Irie’s Social Media Manager , Danny Vega tweeted during the game that Lil Wayne gestured he had a gun to an antagonizing fan:

This incident is the latest saga in an ongoing riff between the Young Money President and the Miami Heat, specifically the team’s two biggest stars.

Weezy vented to Rolling Stone in January of 2011 his frustrations over Dwayne Wade and Lebron James not acknowledging him at games. “We sit by them b*tch a*s n*ggas,” said Wayne. “At least come and ask why I’m not rooting for you.”

Five months after that Lil Wayne celebrated with the Heats 2011 Finals opponents, Dallas Mavericks at Miami’s Club Liv.

 

 

Lil Wayne’s questionable interaction with a fan might have earned him an ejection from Sunday’s game, but one a year ago recently earned him a lawsuit.

According to court documents posted by E!, Alfred Marino alleges that a member of Lil Wayne’s entourage struck him with a skateboard after the fan attempted to take a picture of the rapper. The plaintiff does not know exactly who struck him which is why he listed 1 to 100 suspects.

The Compton rapper will star opposite Stacy in the movie “House Arrest,” which will debut at the The Laemmle Music Hall Theatre, for two exclusive shows.

The movie Is the directorial debut for Andrea Weathersby, also executive produced the film.

The movie centers around Game, who plays a character named “DeAndre,” who lavishes his girlfriend with expensive gifts.

But The plot takes a twist, when she becomes involved in “DeAndre’s” computer chip scheme, resulting in her being charged and placed on house arrest.

Cash Money Founder To Celebrate Birthday; Rappers Descend Upon All-Star Weekend

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams will celebrate his birthday with a celebrity bash during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend.

All-Star Weekend is taking place in Houston, Texas this year from February 15-17.

During the festivities, Birdman will host his official birthday party at The Warehouse, on Saturday February 16.

Birdman’s party is part of a weekend lineup being promoted by Jetsetters Promotions and Jessica Vickery.

In addition to Birdman’s birthday party, Jetsetters Promotions and Jessica Vickery have teamed up to present a whole weekend, filled with Hip-Hop related events.

Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack confirmed three people died in the shooting Monday morning at the New Castle County Courthouse in Wilmington.
Two police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Shavack said officers exchanged gunfire with the shooter in the courthouse’s lobby before he passed metal detectors. Shavack did not say whether the shooter killed the two women or whether they were killed in the gunfire. Shavack also did not say how the shooter died.

As TMZ first reported, the paparazzi who were on the scene when Brown crashed Porsche claim they were not involved with the accident and only arrived on scene after the fact.

But Brown is sticking with his side of things … and his rep tells TMZ, “We plan on seeking criminal charges and holding them civilly liable.”

Future — the rapper behind the hit “Same Damn Time” — may have to multitask when it comes to parenting duties … ’cause ANOTHER woman is claiming he knocked her up.

TMZ has learned the most recent potential baby mama filed a lawsuit against Future in Georgia earlier this month … claiming she gave birth to his son on December 4th. She also wants Future to start paying child support for the newborn STAT.

The woman makes it clear in docs, if Future disputes the paternity … she wants a judge order him to take a DNA test … and make it official.

As we previously reported … Future just settled another baby mama paternity suit back in January — and agreed to pay $1,662 a month in child support for his 10-year-old son.

Thanksgiving’s gonna be fun this year.

 

Cee Lo Green Sued — Company Claims He Scrooged Them Over XMAS Concerts

Cee Lo Green is being sued over the 12, no 6, no 2 days of Christmas — specifically, the lawsuit alleges his people conspired to fleece an unsuspecting promoter out of hundreds of thousands of dollars over concerts that were never going to happen.

Cierra Management Group claims in its lawsuit, Cee Lo’s people approached them in November, 2011 with a proposition — doing a tour called “12 Days of Christmas.”  Cierra would have had to front $100k per concert and it was too much money.

So Cee Lo’s peeps went back and proposed to slash XMAS in half and do 6 days at $100k each, but it was still too rich for Cierra’s blood.

So, according to the lawsuit, Cierra was offered a bargain basement Yuletide proposition — 2 concerts for a total of $243,000 including expenses.  It was too tempting and Cierra agreed.

But here’s the deal … According to the suit, the concerts never took place and Cierra believes Cee Lo’s people never intended for them to take place.  The suit claims it was all “a scheme designed to finagle funding capital for concerts they knew would not manifest.”

Cee Lo is not accused of being part of the conspiracy — although his people certainly are — but he’s being sued for allegedly refusing to perform the 2 concerts.

Cierra wants a whopping $14.2 million.

We contacted Cee Lo’s people and so far no response.

Marques Houston Gets Restraining Order Against Raz B

Marques Houston is so afraid his beef with Raz B could turn dangerous, that he obtained a temporary restraining order against his former friend … TMZ has learned.

Houston and Raz B (real name De’Mario Thornton) have been feuding since the middle of last year. According to docs filed by Houston last month, the feud began when Raz posted a video online accusing Houston of molesting him when he was a child(a claim Houston has denied).

In the docs, Houston claims the video “has caused me emotional distress and caused me to fear he will be violent toward himself and others.” Houston claims that Raz also spoken many times about killing people as well as killing himself.

Houston also claims in the docs that Raz (famous from his days in the band B2K) has threatened him specifically on the Internet several times and this has made him “fear that my life, my girlfriend’s life and the lives of my family and friends are in danger.”

A judge granted the temporary restraining order last month, requiring Raz to at least 100 yards away from Houston.

A hearing to make the order permanent is scheduled to go down tomorrow.

Calls to Raz B were not returned.

Drake Wins Grammy For Best Rap Album, Nas Fails To Garner Grammy

 Drake has garnered his first Grammy win, besting the veteran Nas in the pre-televised portion of the awards show in the Best Rap Album.

Take Care, Drake’s second album, struck a chord as he also bested Lupe Fiasco, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross.

“Toronto, we got that. We ware watching [The Grammys] on the iPad. We just started going nuts [when we realized I won] and I realize I had torn my suit,” Drake said in an interview with FUSE News on the red carpet before the live show. He said he immediately called a tailor to fix his suit.

The 55th annual Grammy Awards are currently underway in Los Angeles and a number of rappers have already scooped awards.

Early winners include Jay-Z and Kanye West, whose song “”N****s in Paris,” won Best Rap Song.

Toronto rapper Drake took home the coveted Best Album of the Year award for his album Take Care.

Gospel singer LeCrae won Best Gospel album for his release Gravity, Best R&B song went to “Adorn” by Miguel and Robert Glasper Experiment took home Best R&B album for Black Radio.

The televised portion of the Grammy’s is slated to air tonight (February 10) at 8:00 PM on CBS.

 With only a week remaining until the NBA All-Star Weekend kicks off in Houston, Texas, entertainers Common, Trey Songz and Ne-Yo have been tapped to participate in the 2013 Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.

The celebrity game is set to take place on Friday, February 15th at the George R. Brown Convention Center and is the first event that officially kicks off the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend.

Billboard reports that ”this year’s Celebrity Game will bring in Queen Latifah as an assistant coach, while Nick Cannon will also suit up for the exhibition game. Other non-musical celebrities participating in the game include “The Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson, Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, comedian Kevin Hart and retired NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo.”

Mexico City, Mexico — Mexican authorities say a 9-year-old girl has given birth in western Mexico and they are looking for the purported father, a 17-year-old.

Jalisco state police spokesman Lino Gonzalez says the baby girl was born last week at a hospital in the city of Guadalajara. He says the girl and her baby are doing well.

Gonzalez said Wednesday that the girl’s family alerted authorities after she gave birth and the alleged father has not been seen since in the neighborhood the both live in. He says that if the teenager’s paternity is proven he could face child sex abuse charges

MEANWHILE, IN ARGENTINA….12 year old gives birth to twins.

London, Feb 7 (IANS) A schoolgirl who became pregnant aged just 11 has given birth to twin boys in Argentina, a media report said.

The girl, who was not named, gave birth just weeks after celebrating her 12th birthday, The Sun reported.

The babies were delivered through the Caesarean section five weeks premature.

The girl’s family only became aware she was expecting when a teacher at her school became suspicious of her growing belly.

Police have launched a child abuse probe after the incident in Chilecito, Santa Fe, around 1,000 km from the capital Buenos Aires.

Officers have quizzed two youths aged 16 and 20 in connection with the pregnancy.

Authorities said the girl’s mother’s sister, aged just 14, also gave birth three months ago.

The news comes just after a girl aged nine delivered a daughter in Mexico.

Authorities are hunting for the baby’s 17-year-old father after the girl fell pregnant aged just eight and gave birth last week, the Mirror daily reported.

The baby was born Jan 27 in Mexico’s western Jalisco state. Both the baby and mother were doing well, reports said.

TMZ cracked me up with that “breaking news” the other day about Mobb Deep. First of all, that tour was reported by every other rap site. But anyway…that’s all good. But, my sources are telling me that this reunion is just a reunion for the money. Business, kind of like EPMD. Those dudes are cool, but they definitely are not like the days of old. Mobb Deep ain’t friends, my sources say, and they aren’t even all that cool. They are coming together and making money together for the sake of the tour.

I’m not sure how much they have communicated, but I can’t fault them. At the end of the day, they are stronger together and can make things pop that way. For example P has a solo project on the way and Hav has lots of beats coming.

On the show, they mentioned that Wendy Williams started the relentless gay rumors about Erick. But here is what happened according to my sources. First of all, Erick is from Long Island, NY. Wendy is from somewhere in NJ, I think maybe central.

ANYWAY, rumor has it, Erick Sermon had Wendy to his place in the boonies of LI. And she was just starting out, but gaining momentum. She liked him, as they said on “Unsung.” E smashed, according to rumors. According lore, he then gave her a token or whatever New Yorkers giving somebody and sent her home. She was PISSED! Remember Long Island is way out there! And NY ain’t close! She then started the gay rumors as a way to get him back and ruin his rep. It kind of worked because these rumors linger to this day.

I could be wrong but that’s the word. The denied anything of a homosexual nature with E but….the ghost of Wendy lingers!

Cash Money’s Mystikal Prepping First Album In 12 Years

 After 12 years of being on the sidelines in the rap game former No Limit solider Mystikal is ready to get back on the field.

Out of jail and on a new label, the New Orleans emcee- who is best known for the hits “The Man Right Chea,” “Danger,” “Shake Ya Ass” and “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!” is currently recording his first album in 12 years.

Rolling Stone is reporting that Mystikal has been working on his new LP with long-time producing partner KLC of Beats by The Pound since 2010.

The album is titled Original, and it will feature guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Future, Busta Rhymes, and others.

This will be Mystikal’s first studio album he has released since signing with Cash Money Records in 2011.

He dropped the single “Original” featuring Birdman and Lil Wayne in 2012.

As an added bonus, Mystikal and KLC decided to incorporate the authentic NOLA sound into his latest songs by recording tracks with the New Orleans jazz/rap hybrid performer Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and the award-winning Stooges Brass Band.

Mystikal is also planning to go on tour with the full ensemble this year.

When asked about choosing to use live instrumentation on his new album Mystikal told Rolling Stone, “You eat a TV dinner, five minutes, you are going to shit it back out. A home-cooked meal, it’s going to stick to you. And that’s the difference between real instruments and shit just playing out the keyboard.”

Part of Mystikal’s 12-year hiatus was the result of having to serve a six-year prison sentence stemming from a 2003 sexual battery and extortion case.

After originally stating the sexual encounter between he and his former hairstylist was consensual, Mystikal eventually pled guilty to the charges when police found a videotape of the encounter.

After deleting his Twitter account on Friday, Brooklyn emcee Joey Bada$$ decided to rejoin the social media site yesterday. There were questions whether the Pro Era member left Twitter because of harassment from Lil B fans after the two rappers exchanged disses on Twitter and on records last week.

Before leaving Twitter, Joey sent a few tweets directed at Lil’ B fans who call themselves the Task Force.

Joey used another social site to explain that Lil B followers had nothing to do with him shutting down his Twitter. He wrote on his Tumblr page that he just needed time away from the public because he was dealing with personal issues that didn’t have anything to do with his recent battle with Lil B.

Joey first posted, “lol me stressimg [sic] has nothing to do with lil b.. i have way bigger problems than that and ya should know me better than that.”

“I need some time off this shit…it’s like when I have thoughts I have to let them out but i feel as if I did that too much on twitter…do you know how it feels to know the whole world is watching you…it kinda sux…but im not gone tho my nigga ill be back just taking a break,” Joey added in the next post.

When Joey did make his return to Twitter, he provided more explanation why he took a two-day hiatus from tweeting.

Lil Wayne Explains Weekend Altercation: “I Don’t Like To Be Touched”

Young Money boss Lil Wayne was caught on video getting into a brief altercation with a cameraman this weekend. Wayne was one of the celebrity players at DirecTV’s annual Beach Bowl football game during Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans. After Wayne’s team lost the game he can be seen yelling at a cameraman during the post-game celebrations.

“Look at me motherfucker. Look at me when you apologize,” says Wayne toward someone off camera.

E! News’s Alicia Quarles later caught up with Wayne to ask him what got him so upset. Wayne’s explains that he didn’t appreciate being pushed by one of the cameramen, and then seems to suggest that he would have reacted by pushing the man back but the color of his skin would have been held against him after the incident.

“I don’t like to be touched by people that I don’t tell to touch me. So I’ma get out of the building because if I touch somebody I go to jail because they not the color of me. They not the same color I am so you know how that go,” says Wayne.

He ended the interview with, “but to them, fuck you!”

Wayne is still currently on probation after serving eight months at New York’s Rikers Island in 2010 for a gun possession conviction. If Wayne is seen as violating the terms of his probation he could be sent back to prison.

Trinidad James Goes International for ‘Girls Welcomed’

 Trinidad James, one of last year’s breakout stars, had a homecoming this weekend. The “All Gold Everything” rapper is currently in his birthplace of Port of Spain, Trinidad shooting the video for his song “Females Welcomed.” The new visuals will feature the 2013 Trinidad and Tobago Miss World Athaliah Samuel and reggae singer Shaggy.

James is also scheduled to perform at the the second annual Machel Monday Concert next week as part of Trinidad Carnival.

Malcolm X’s Grandson Arrested by FBI

 Malcolm X’s grandson and Muslim civil activist, Malcolm Lateef Shabazz has reportedly been arrested by FBI agents, according to reports from PressTV.

Prior to the arrest, the grandson to the civil rights icon was en route to Tehran, Iran for the third annual Hollywoodism International Conference held on Sunday (February 3^rd). The FBI has refused to release information regarding Shabazz’s current whereabouts and the cause for the apparent arrest. The Hollywoodism International Conference hosts filmmakers, activists and scholars from across the globe to discuss issues facing world cinema and it being used as a vehicle for nationalistic propaganda.

Coincidentally, Shabazz’s arrest coincided with the February 2^nd premiere of Lifetime original movie Betty & Coretta, which is based on the friendship between Betty Shabazz and Coretta Scott King following their respective husband’s assassination. The movie is steeped in controversy as members of both the King and Shabazz family claim they were not consulted for the film and that there are stark character inaccuracies. Ilyasah Shabazz recently told the Washington Post that her mother (played by R&B legend Mary J. Blige) was “regal, compassionate, strong, loving, beautiful, resilient and well-educated” as opposed to the timid and insecure portrayal in the movie. Even the character’s wardrobe drew the ire of Ilyasah Shabazz as she states her mother never wore a scarf around her face, as portrayed in the movie and traditional for a Muslim, as a sign of independence.

The Washington Post reported that unnamed A&E officials excluded the families from involvement in the movie prior to post-production due to limiting familial bias in the protection of their legacy. A major point of contention for the Shabazz family was the dramatization of Betty Shabazz’s death which resulted from a fire set by her grandson, Malcom Lateef Shabazz. The movie depicted Malcolm X’s dying wife as using her last moments of life to speak to Coretta Scott King, even though the Shabazz families claims she was unable to speak after suffering third-degree burns.

Lights out Super Bowl! Ravens make final stand to beat Niners for NFL title

NEW ORLEANS – The Baltimore Ravens shook off an unprecedented Superdome blackout and a near improbable second-half comeback by the San Francisco 49ers to hold on and capture one of the greatest, and certainly wildest, Super Bowls, 34-31 on Sunday.

 

In the end it was the aged, but still game Ravens defense that delivered one final goal-line stand to clinch victory. A fourth-down pass from Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick sailed long with 1:46 to play, allowing Baltimore to hold on.

In a game full of huge momentum swings and electric, back-and-forth plays, everything seemed to turn on a 34-minute, third-quarter power outage at the Superdome.

“The final series of Ray Lewis‘ career was a goal-line stand,” John Harbaugh said. “How could anything be more fitting?”

The Ravens led 28-6 early in the third quarter, riding the momentum of a 108-yard Jacoby Jones kickoff return for a score before the Superdome lost power, casting the field in darkness, shutting off the air conditioning and delaying the game for more than half an hour before order was restored.

San Francisco quickly rallied with three scores in 4:10 – a 31-yard Michael Crabtree reception, a 6-yard Frank Gore run and a 34-yard David Akers field goal. After Baltimore answered with a field goal, San Francisco scored again on Kaepernick’s 15-yard sprint. After a failed two-point conversion, Baltimore clung to a 31-29 lead.

Flacco, who finished 22-of-33 for 287 yards and three touchdowns, led the Ravens on a time consuming field-goal drive, allowing a gassed defense a bit of rest and a five-point cushion. Along with the Lombardi Trophy, he will take home MVP honors.

Kaepernick responded only to stall out on downs inside the Ravens’ 5-yard line, the vaunted Baltimore defense making red zone yards so difficult to attain.

In the end, it may not have been pretty, but it was enough. And since when has Baltimore football been about beauty?

The victory gave Harbaugh a victory over his younger brother Jim in the first Super Bowl featuring brothers as opposing coaches. In the postgame handshake, John Harbaugh told his sibling that he loved him. Jim’s reply was “congratulations.”

Sympathy for the younger Harbaugh was evident. “It’s very tough,” John Harbaugh said. “It’s a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be. It’s very painful.”

Lewis walks off into retirement a winner, earning his second Super Bowl championship. He stayed true to his faithful form when the Lombardi Trophy was presented to the team.

“When God is for you, who can be against you?” Lewis asked.

The Ravens dominated the first half, taking a 21-6 lead into the break on the strength of the brilliant arm of Flacco and a defense that, while aged, was able to produce two turnovers and completely confuse Kaepernick.

When Jones returned the opening kick of the second half to give Baltimore a 22-point lead, many thought the game was over.

Whether it was the ensuing blackout or simply the never-quit attitude of a team that made a habit of late comebacks all season, the Niners were nowhere near done.

Destiny’s Child Sings ‘Bootylicious’ During Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime Set

In 2003, Grammy Award winner Beyoncé told Reuters that she had come to dislike the word bootylicious, the title of the Destiny’s Child hit from the group’s 2001 album Survivor.

But Beyoncé put her differences aside Sunday night when performing the halftime set at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. “Bootylicious” is the first song she performed during her Destiny’s Child reunion with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

“To be honest, I hate the word,” she told Reuters in 2003. “I wrote it because I was gaining weight, and I felt like for all the people that feel like I do right now … But now everywhere I go, everybody is saying, ‘booty-this’ and ‘booty-thyat’ and it’s really irritating.”

More than 10 years since the release of the song, the trio looked even better. In the “Bootylicious” video, they were dressed in bright colors and Beyoncé even wore a gold tooth. Sunday night, they each sizzled with form fitting leather leotards.

Seven minutes into Beyoncé’s pyrotechnic heavy, dance-filled routine, Destiny’s Child members Rowland and Williams emerged, propelled from below the stage, debunking rumors that their reunion would not happen.

Rowland and Williams had a commanding presence on stage with Beyoncé.

Surprisingly, they only sang two Destiny’s Child songs, “Bootylicious” and “Independent Women,” shattering talk of a performance of “Nuclear,” their subpar new song from their recently released album Love Songs.

Rowland and Williams did help Beyoncé perform her hit “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” each snagging solo parts, in traditional Destiny’s Child style.

Otherwise, aside from Beyoncé’s introduction on a pillar and the impressive, flame-traced silhouette in her likeness, her Pepsi-sponsored set is best described as a teaser clip of her past tours and award show performances.

The opening song “Crazy In Love” capitalized on her trademark, runway walk. For “End Of Time” she highlighted various sections of her all female band, and for “Baby Boy,” she revisited the concept of her 2011 Billboard Music Awards performance where she danced in synch with projections on a screen behind her.

After “Single Ladies,” she kneeled at the edge of the stage to sing “Halo” to her audience, as the high-powered stage fans blew her hair.

While it was entertaining, it didn’t live up to all of the lead up hype, $50 million deal with Pepsi, post-inauguration lip synch backlash, rehearsal footage previews or press conference a cappella.

It would have been great to see Jay-Z join her on stage for one of their songs.

In the week leading up to the Super Bowl performance, Beyoncé offered some insight into what she would deliver on stage.

Beyoncé made it clear that she had every intention to sing without a backing track as she did at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

“I will absolutely be singing live,” she said during her Super Bowl press conference Thursday. “I am well rehearsed and will absolutely be singing life. This is what I was born to do. What I was born for.”

Though Beyoncé was hesitant to confirm that Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams would be joining her on stage for a reunion, she did talk about recently recording together the song “Nuclear” for the group’s album, Love Songs, that was released Tuesday.

“It was so exciting to hear us together again,” she said. “I just kinda dropped on the floor and kinda felt like a little teenager again when I heard us harmonize. There’s nothing like our connection and the sisterhood we have, so it’s always such a pleasure to be around them professionally and personally.”

Beyoncé will premiere her documentary, Life Is But A Dream, on HBO on February 16.

Gucci Mane Accused Of Attempted Murder? Another Rapper Goes Christian!

Gucci Mane Did WHAT? You know Gucci Mane is known to buss his gun off, but that has been a long while ago. The latest has deeper implications, especially since Gucci just spoke at career day at an Atlanta Middle School. Rumor has it, Gucci beat down a DJ to near death after the DJ played an unreleased track from the rapper! It was all good, dudes were spending money on strippers and everything that goes along with the “life.” Suddenly, that song came on. Word is, Gucci stepped to the dude and they allegedly beat his arse and destroyed his DJ equipment. It was so bad that both the police and the paramedics were called to the scene. The DJ is reportedly in the hospital resting in stable condition. Gucci allegedly fled the scene with the entourage.

Bushwick Bill has long been claiming to come out at a Christian rapper and I’m now hearing it is finally coming true. According to my sources, the lil big man will be coming out as a Holy Hip-Hopper. This is not really new because the rumors have been swirling for quite some time. I am hearing that he will have a tour, DVD and album all starting in May. We’ll see!

Drake Will Debut New Single On Grammy Night

Besides artists picking up trophies and star-studded performances there will be one more major music moment on February 10.

Billboard.com is reporting that YMCMB member Drake will be releasing a new song on the night of the Grammys.

The track is titled “Started From the Bottom,” and it will be the first official single off his upcoming third studio album.

Pictures surfaced online a few weeks ago of the singer-rapper on the set of a video shoot, and it was speculated that the Toronto native may have been filming a music video for the new track.

What is confirmed is that Drake connected with fellow Canadian, Director X, to direct the visuals.

The two previously worked together on the videos “HYFR” and “No Lie.”

So far, Drake has not announced a title or release date for the follow-up to his platinum album Take Care which was released in 2011.

He spent most of 2012 dominating the radio with his hits “The Motto” and “HYFR” and from appearing on 2 Chainz’s “No Lie,” Rick Ross’s “Stay Schemin’,” French Montana’s “Pop That,” Meek Mill’s “Amen” and A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems.”

He was also featured on the posthumous Aaliyah song “Enough Said.”

Beyond dropping “Started From The Bottom,” Sunday, February 10 could be a huge night for Drake for other reasons as well.

He will also be up for three Grammy awards- Best Rap Performance for “HYFR”, Best Rap Song for the “Motto”, and Best Rap Album for Take Care.

Chief Keef’s Manager Defends Troubled Rapper, Says He’s Had A “Wake-up Call”

 Chicago rapper Chief Keef has faced serious circumstances in his short music career. The 17-year-old is currently serving a 60-day sentence in juvenile detention on a gun charge. The presiding judge ruled that Keef had violated his probation after appearing in taped interview for Pitchfork at a gun range.

Keef’s recent incarceration and violent imagery in his lyrics have led to a lot of criticism toward the “Love Sosa” rapper, especially in the wake of the overwhelming violence in his hometown.

Keef’s manager, Dro Manuel, recently defended his client in an interview with The Best of Both Offices, saying he felt putting the burden of what’s happening in Chicago on the young rapper was unfair, and that people have a misconception of the real Chief Keef.

Manuel insists Keef is not a bad person, but just an entertainer who’s speaking on real life topics.

“He’s not the first to put reality-based lyrics [in his music], as far as like talking about what’s going on in the inner-city for real,” said Manuel. “I think that it’s kinda messed up that they wanna blame him for all the murders, all the crime and all this other stuff that’s going on in Chicago.”

While Manuel defends Keef against the idea that he’s in any way responsible for the high murder rate in Chicago, he does say that there is blame to go around- mostly on city officials and the media.

“Chicago hasn’t paid attention to Englewood [Chief Keef’s neighborhood] since they thought they were getting the Olympics. That’s when they brought it out to the public like, ‘there’s all these murders happening in Englewood everyday,’ and that kinda backfired on them…after that, they haven’t brought it back up until Chief Keef.”

Manuel went on to say that he feels other Chi-town emcees haven’t spoken out enough about the lack of attention to the violent areas of the city, after the failed Olympic bid.

“And all of the other rappers that come from Chicago, they know that. They act like they don’t know that, but they know that. These problems have gone on here for a long time.”

Manuel also believes that Keef’s recent legal problems are mostly the fault of other people. When asked if he thought Pitchfork is responsible for Keef getting locked up he replied, “Pitchfork and whoever set that interview up, not saying any names, but yeah. I think so.”

Manuel said that he is confident Chief Keef will leave the detention center a changed man.

“I got a message from him that he’s had a wake-up call. This is a wake-up call for him,” he revealed. “I think he’s gonna come out a different person. I think he’s gonna come out with some new music, a new attitude…”

French Montana Hits the Road for First Headlining Tour

 Bronx bred rapper French Montana has finalized details for his first headlining tour, set to kick off on February 26 at the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington, DC.

The Bad Boy/Interscope artist, who is also affiliated with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, will hit 17 dates, zigzagging across the country to perform in cities like New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver, Detroit and San Francisco.

“This is my first official headline tour,” French Montana said in a statement released to the press. “Everything has been leading up to this and the release of my album. I’m just excited to get on the road and see my fans, share my music and include them on this journey.”

French kicks off his “Excuse My French Tour,” in support of his highly anticipated forthcoming album Excuse My French which will be available April 16 in stores and with digital retailers.

The album is set to be executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and Rick Ross and co-executive produced by Harve Pierre for Bad Boy/Interscope.

In 2012, Montana was tapped by Drake to join his “Club Paradise” tour and has shared the stage with Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross and many more.

French has had quite a successful end of 2012 and early 2013 as his songs “Pop That,”found national success, featuring Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Drake, and rising as high as #1 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B chart, garnering over 30 million views on VEVO.

French has also had success with the songs “Marble Floors” featuring Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, and the Young Chop produced “Ochocinco” featuring Bad Boy’s MGK, Los, Red Café and Diddy.

Trina Hosts Urban Ski Weekend Pajama Party

 Last night, Trina had a good time in the mountains of Gatlingburg, Tennessee while hosting “Urban Ski Weekend.”

People from all over the country, and even a few locals came to the pajama party last night, and to kick it with Trina.

Trina took pics all night with fans and passed out drinks ensuring a good time was had by all who attended the three-day event.

Trina just dropped a new mixtape titled “Back 2 Business,” which was executive produced by rapper French Montana.

Trina is currently working on her sixth album.

Steve Stoute owns Translation Marketing LLC, which is also partly owned by superstar rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

The honor is part of Advertising Age’s “Agency A-List Ranking” initiative, which honors the top advertising/marketing companies, based on creativity, performance and the ability to impact the client’s business, in a positive manner

From Trouble Man To Funny Man: T.I. Stars In New Comedy Film ‘Identity Thief’

 To his family, he’s Clifford Harris. To millions of fans he is T.I. On February 8th he will be Julian in the new movie, Identity Thief directed by Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon.

T.I., co-stars with Arrested Development actor Jason Bateman and Bridesmaid actress Melissa McCarthy in a comedy about a businessman (Bateman) who has his identity stolen by a deceptively innocent woman  (McCarthy) and searches to get answers. This is the first venture into comedy for Mr. Trouble Man and told an interviewer in a recent press junket for the movie that he “invited the opportunity to shock people” who wonder if T.I. could do anything but be T.I.

T.I. has been the burgeoning thespian as of late. After notable roles in 2007′s American Gangster and 2010′s Takers, T.I. has recently appeared in TV series Boss and Hawaii Five-O last year. He also reveals which artists he finds inspiration in for his acting career:
